Inland Wins Nine 2017 Graphics Excellence Awards

La Crosse, Wis. – The Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) has announced that Inland, a leader in advanced packaging and label printing headquartered in La Crosse, WI, is a winner in the 2017 Graphics Excellence Awards Competition. Inland was recognized with nine awards, including one Best of Division.
Inland was awarded Best of Division in the Specialty Inks, Coatings, Fragrances, or “Invisible” Printing Inks category for their pressure sensitive Kingsford Smoked Hickory BBQ Sauce label, which features a sand grit texture coating. Other 2017 Graphics Excellence Awards for Inland include seven Award of Excellences and one Certificate of Merit. A panel of out-of-state judges with extensive experience in printing and print production was brought in to examine the work. Each entry was judged on its own merit in a category with similar printed pieces. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing and overall visual impact.
The award-winning companies are honored each year at the GEA Celebrations, hosted by the Great Lakes Graphics Association. This year’s simultaneous award ceremony will be held May 24th, 2017, at both the Medinah Shrine Center in Addison, IL, and the Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee, WI.
